Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting spooky. Soon, the big Halloween event “Fortnitemares” will kick off. This will likely include a new skin and possibly new challenges.
What is Halloween all about? Recently, Epic has been posting small pictures and spooky poems daily on Twitter. They featured ghouls, gravestones, and revolvers. Additionally, there was a grim looking undead cowboy.
When does it start? Meanwhile, the third and final picture for the “Fortnitemares” event is here. Epic has finally revealed the start date:
- The Halloween event in Fortnite will start on October 24, 2018. There will likely be a big update.
- The end of the event is also known. It will end on November 26, 2018, just over a week before the expected end of Season 6.
You have almost the entire rest of Season 6 to enjoy the Halloween event.
What do we already know and suspect about the Halloween event?
What could come in the event: As is usual with Fortnite, many players expect a big event. Therefore, the following things are possible:
- It is considered quite certain that there will be a cowboy skin. This will either be the male counterpart to the currently missing Ghoul Trooper, or (which is more likely) the male version of Season-6 heroine Calamity.
- The cowboy could be a reward for an event or available in the shop. Then, possibly new challenges will be unlocked after the purchase, similar to the Wildcard skins.
- In any case, the official announcement for the event states that there are “spooky rewards” for all who complete the new challenges for the event. This strongly indicates new tasks for all players.
- A new game mode is suspected that revolves around Halloween. Some players even suspect a mode where zombies appear as PvE enemies, like in Blackout in Black Ops 4!
- Reddit is also speculating whether the famous Pumpkin Head rocket launcher will return.
- It is also possible that the revolver will make a return reworked from the vault. This pistol was recently removed from the game.
Will the cube plot finally end? Strangely, the description reads “Darkness has risen”. Previously, it simply said “Darkness rises”.
Perhaps tomorrow we will finally see the fate of the flying island and the purple cube, which are currently ominously tearing open a portal in the sky.
