1. World of Warcraft – Arthas
Who is Arthas? Arthas Menethil was in World of Warcraft the son of Lordaeron’s king Terenas II and queen Lianne. As a young paladin, he uncovered a plague behind which the Lich King Ner’zhul lurked.
As the plague spread and claimed more lives, Arthas’ views grew increasingly radical. In the hope of stopping the Lich King and thus the plague that turned more and more humans and elves into undead, he journeyed to Northrend.
There he took up the rune blade Frostmourne. This brought him under the control of the Lich King Ner’zhul. When he returned to Lordaeron, he was completely changed. He killed his father and plunged the kingdom into chaos.
Later, he returned to Northrend and broke the Lich King’s prison to take his armor and merge with him. This made him the ruler of the undead scourge – an almost endless army of undead.

What personality does Arthas have? As a human, Arthas was caring and righteous. However, this changed with his slow transformation in the course of Warcraft 3. Ultimately, he ended up as the Lich King, was cruel, and knew no mercy.
Why is he evil? Arthas wanted to stop the undead with the help of the sword Frostmourne. However, this resulted in the Lich King Ner’zhul manipulating him and bringing out his dark side. Thus, Arthas succumbed to evil.
What was his worst deed? After succumbing to evil, Arthas traveled to Lordaeron and killed his father there. With the scourge, he laid waste to the kingdom, raising the fallen humans to be his new servants and moved on to destroy the elven kingdom of Quel’Thalas.
Was he defeated? The paladin Tirion Fordring managed to destroy Frostmourne with the Ashbringer. This gave the heroes of Azeroth (the players) enough time to win the fight against him. In his last moments, he saw once more the soul of his father, which had been imprisoned in the blade Frostmourne. He ended his existence with the realization that only darkness awaited him.
