How often can you listen to the same piece of music? Often. Very often. Especially the soundtrack of World of Warcraft has truly captivated a fan.
World of Warcraft is a large MMORPG. For many long-time fans, it is much more than just a game; it is even a piece of home. Sometimes, all it takes are a few sounds to evoke the warm feeling of nostalgia and to feel transported back to 20 years ago.
This leads to many of the popular WoW soundtracks still being listened to by fans with a regularity that is unmatched.
This trailer also brings a comforting feeling, which finally promises housing:
What has happened? At the end of the year, Spotify releases a summary of the songs that you listened to the most on the music streaming platform with the “Wrapped” format, and some WoW fans feel caught up in the fact that they often indulge in memories of the past.
In the WoW subreddit, the user Pinch_of_Ginger shared an image of his “Wrapped.” According to this, he has played the song “Elwynn Forest” 133 times. This puts him among the 0.005% of people who have listened to the song the most. He wrote, “I, um… had a rough time…”
For this, he receives not only upvotes but also plenty of comments from people who also have a connection to this and other songs.
- “We all do that, buddy, and we all have [the song] on repeat.” – The-Oppressed
- “No judgment, the song is great.” – ophyliawispling
Do you feel the same emotions when you listen to this song? Just see for yourself:
That the song is so popular has many reasons. For many WoW fans, the song is associated with the feeling one had for the first time when leaving the Northern Stranglethorn, standing in the great forest of Elwynn and suddenly realizing how vast this game world is and how much there is to discover.
WoW soundtrack is extremely popular
The musical accompaniment of World of Warcraft has always been one of the great strengths of the game and constitutes an important part of the fascination. Therefore, it is not surprising that the background music of the game world also runs on loop (or at least quite frequently) for many fans outside the game. Some of the most popular pieces from the comments:
- The Sin’dorei (Link to YouTube)
- Totems of the Grizzlemaw (Link to YouTube)
- Azuremyst (Link to YouTube)
All the more incomprehensible is that a large part of the community has permanently disabled the music in World of Warcraft. Yes, exactly, you may feel personally addressed right now.
Do you have any pieces of music from World of Warcraft or other games that you listen to regularly? What do you associate with this music, and how does it affect you? Please feel free to let us know in the comments.
Also nostalgic is an ancient symbol from WoW – but that comes from a completely different game!
