MeinMMO wanted to know from you which weapon from Monster Hunter Wilds you prefer to hunt with. The race for the winner’s podium was exciting and we now have the resolution for you.
What kind of survey was that? In our survey, we wanted to know from you which of the 14 weapons in Monster Hunter is your favorite. A total of 1,955 votes were cast for your favorite.
It is noticeable: Apparently, you like anime heroes, as the top ranks fit really well.

Your favorite weapon from Monster Hunter in the community ranking
First of all, it seems you like all weapons to some extent, as each of them received at least 40 votes, which is more than 1% of the total votes. Likewise, the number of votes for the lower places continuously decreases, so there are no clear losers.
Now, however, to your ranking of positions 10 – 4:
- Place 10: Hunting Horn (4% with 76 votes)
- Place 9: Gun Lance (5% with 90 votes)
- Place 8: Insect Glaive (7% with 141 votes)
- Place 7: Morphing Axe (8% with 147 votes)
- Place 6: Bow (9% with 171 votes)
- Place 5: Great Sword (9% with 182 votes)
- Place 4: Dual Blades (10% with 189 votes)
Shield and sword narrowly missed the ranking. With just 11 more votes, that would have become your place 10.
Following that are the heavy bowgun and the lance, closely followed by the light bowgun at the back. One might almost think that you prefer to hit in melee rather than attack your opponent from afar.
Now, however, we come to your top 3, which we want to present to you in more detail.
Place 3: Energy Blade
- Result: 10% with 197 votes
A weapon – two modes. With the Energy Blade, you get two play styles combined, a defensive one where you can gather energy and defend yourself and an aggressive one where you can deal high damage.
In defensive mode, you play with a combination of sword and shield, which you can transform into a large axe when your vials are charged with enough energy. If you’re looking for cool moves and variation in combat, the Energy Blade won’t disappoint.
Place 2: Hammer
- Result: 10% with 200 votes
If you want to hit hard, the best choice is the Hammer: Big, heavy, with a lot of “bang”. With chargeable attacks, you can knock your opponents off balance or stun them.
The Hammer is also great for breaking certain monster parts. A brutal weapon for anyone who likes to feel powerful.
Place 1: Long Sword
- Result: 18% with 347 votes
The Long Sword – perfect for all samurai cosplayers and lovers of fast slashes. If you want to slash monsters quickly and flamboyantly, the Long Sword is the right choice – anime-style action included.
However, those who set out with the Long Sword should pay close attention to their allies. In Monster Hunter World, it could quickly happen that you hit group members and interrupted their efforts due to the expansive combos of the sword.
