We from MeinMMO were in Cologne at the gamescom 2023 for you. Besides the numerous games, there were, of course, plenty of content creators from Twitch and YouTube present. We interviewed some of them in a little Q&A session.
Who did we ask? Alongside our GameStar colleagues Michael Graf and Géraldine Hohmann, as well as Maurice Weber, the YouTuber Max “HandOfBlood” Knabe, Peter Smits from Pietsmiet, and Twitch streamers Gnu and Acyrania were also present.
Additionally, we had a conversation with strategy expert Writing Bull, who primarily focuses on games like Anno, Civilization, and Jagged Alliance. In the conversation, he also provided insights into the nature of a strategist.
What did we want to know? Our head editor Leya asked the attendees which character from a video game they would be. The twist: they can not only embody the character, but also must live in the corresponding game world – a big disadvantage for horror fans.
What creative answers the respondents came up with can be seen in this video. Whether they would really survive in their chosen game is, of course, a completely different question.
What else happened at gamescom? Even this year, influencers caused quite a stir at the gaming fair. However, there were no major incidents like the infamous brawl behind Hall 8 or a stampede.
To prevent such scenes, action was taken when too many fans gathered around a person. This happened to Twitch streamer LetsHugo, who was faced with the choice to retreat to the Red Bull lounge or leave the venue altogether.
