In the Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone, there is currently a lot of criticism regarding Cold War and its integration into the Battle Royale. MeinMMO wanted to know how you find the new content. Here are your answers.
Here’s what it was about: We reported on players of CoD Warzone who complained on reddit about the “merger” with Cold War. From their perspective, the new content has worsened the situation of the Battle Royale. Some players have already called for the removal of some content.
Therefore, we asked you how you feel about Warzone with the “Cold War” touch.
These are the results: The survey ended on January 22, 2021. Every MeinMMO reader could cast exactly one vote in the survey. A total of 2,812 readers participated.

- Not so good (21.23% / 597 votes)
- Okay (12.52% / 352 votes)
- Great (9.50% / 267 votes)

With 48%, almost half of the participants find the integration of Cold War into Warzone terrible. Another 21% believe that the new content is not received well. This results in a significant number of players, specifically 1,960 readers, who have a rather negative impression of the integration.
On the other hand, nearly 13% of you find the content okay, 9% great, and 8% good. In total, 30% of you accept the content from Cold War.
The new content is not well received
Here are your reasons: In the comments under the article, some of you addressed the problems Cold War causes.
The integration has made everything worse. Most players are running around with 3 to 4 weapons, and they are from Cold War.
The nerfs have not helped at all when you constantly see the same weapon in the killcam.

The DMR 14 has received a second nerf, but many players doubt the nerf and suspect that the weapon is OP again
MeinMMO reader Frank elaborates in his comment on where the problems of CoD Warzone currently lie for him. From his perspective, the integration of Cold War is a good thing, but it was not properly planned. There are significant issues with balancing, and some “Modern Warfare” weapons could serve as alternatives, with appropriate adjustments to handling.
The current semi-automatic DMRs are practically useless to him, as are the SCAR, Dragunov, or the Rytec AMR. Additionally, weapon attachments from Cold War do not function as described in Warzone. In his comment, he references a video by CoD YouTuber JGOD, who publishes weapon setups on his channel and shows how broken some attachments are.
In his video about the LMG “Stoner 63”, he recommends a barrel that is supposed to do more vehicle damage – according to the description. However, in practice, the attachment increases projectile speed significantly. So much so that he sees the barrel as the best choice for the weapon. We embed the English video for you here:
The balance seems to be a problem
In the comments, the balancing of the new Cold War weapons is often identified as a problem. An additional issue is the skill-based matchmaking (SBMM). In the community, there is a desire to adjust the SBMM and to balance the “Cold War” weapons against the rest of the arsenal. Another problem is cheaters: At the end of January, the issue reached its sad peak when a finalist was disqualified for cheating at the $250,000 tournament “Twitch Rivals”.
What do you think? Do you think that the balancing of the Cold War weapons is a problem? And should the SBMM be completely abolished? Let us know in the comments.
