We at MeinMMO are bidding farewell to Disqus on 03.12.2019 and are switching to our own comment system. You will of course switch directly with us. From today, you need an account with us to continue participating in the comment section under articles.
Update 03.12 – 1:50 PM: The migration of the comments has now been completed. This means that all your comments from Disqus are now integrated into our new system.
Thank you already for your diligent feedback, through which we have been able to identify several issues and bugs! Here is an excerpt of the things our developers have already fixed:
- The font and size have been refined
- Comments that have not been seen yet will no longer be displayed with a background color
- New comments are now displayed at the top by default and not the old ones
- The 403 error when logging in has been fixed
- The “Report” function has been adjusted and is now displayed better on mobile. The color still needs to be adjusted for dark mode.
- Guests can no longer comment
We are also currently working on eliminating extreme zoom for mobile users. Currently, when a new comment is posted, it still shows that it was posted a year ago. This is also in progress.

For a long time, we have been striving to switch from Disqus to our own comment system. To prepare you, dear community, optimally for the move, you will find all important information about the transition here.
Here are your advantages: We can now better customize the new system to your wishes and needs.
This will enable us to implement things in the future, such as achievements in comments or a personal comment page. How about earning new emojis through achievements?
Here we are heavily reliant on your feedback regarding what your dream comment system at MeinMMO would be!
We gain a bit more control over advertising on the site. So, who remembers the golden days of toenail fungus ads? Yes, exactly that kind of stuff we can handle better with our own system. Some of the advertising content on the site was dictated by Disqus.
You only need an account on MeinMMO and no longer an additional Disqus account.
What you need to keep in mind
During the transition to the new system, there are a few things you should know.
When will the transition take place? From 8:00 PM today (Monday, December 02), we will switch to the new system. The transition will take several hours and will continue until the early morning hours (Tuesday, December 03).
Update 03.12: The migration is still in full swing (10:30 AM).
What happens during the transition? All old comments that are here on the site will be transferred to our own system. So there will be a migration of the comments.
During this time, you can continue to comment and edit your comments. However, if you edit and adjust a comment during the migration, the adjustment will not be carried over to the new system.
The Disqus name will not be automatically transferred! If you want to keep your name here on the site, you should quickly create an account and secure your name. Unfortunately, we have no way to secure your name, which is why the rule is: whoever comes first, grinds first.
For those who already have an account on MeinMMO, nothing will change regarding the name.

The comment system will initially be released with the essential functions. Over time, we may adjust or expand the system again.
Functions you can use with the release version:
- Place links
- Quote – for this you must copy the text you want to quote
- Mark text as spoiler
- Insert emojis
You can embed content from these services directly:
- YouTube
- Vimeo
- Imgur
- Giphy
This is just the beginning: At this point, a note that the comment system can now grow from here. We are starting with the absolute basics that such a system needs.
The comment section should be expanded with your help. Your comments should become the centerpiece they deserve to be.
Below you can see a screenshot of the new comment section. The screen is from our test environment, so the avatars are not visible. Your set profile picture will of course be visible in the “real” version in the future.
