In October, the new Watch Dogs: Legion was released. The action game received mixed reviews but managed to excite some fans. In December, a major update was scheduled to introduce a co-op mode. However, this has now been postponed.
What happened? As Ubisoft announced in a blog post, the release of the multiplayer mode has been postponed to early 2021. They cited existing technical issues as the reason, which also contributed to the average ratings on Metacritic.
Currently, Ubisoft aims to focus on update 2.20, which is supposed to bring new stability across all platforms and a save button for PC. The release for this is still planned for this week.
In the following weeks and months, further fixes and improvements for the single-player mode are also expected. The multiplayer will only be released when Watch Dogs: Legion runs smoothly and the co-op mode has been thoroughly tested.
What is the co-op mode? In co-op, you should explore London together with up to 3 other players and master special modes and events.
The characters from the single-player mode cannot be transferred to co-op. Instead, the multiplayer is intended to function independently.

Technical issues are not the only criticism
How is it going with Watch Dogs: Legion in general? In this action game, you assume the role of a hacker and explore virtual and open London. You try to persuade more and more people to join your resistance.
However, the over 9 million characters available in the game often appear very similar and rarely offer real depth. Additionally, there has been criticism for weak AI and uninspired action combat that offers little variety.
To what extent these criticisms will be addressed by Ubisoft in the near future has not yet been detailed. Similarly, we currently do not know whether this postponement will affect upcoming content like the DLC featuring Aiden Pearce.
