The second legendary minion for Warlocks in the new Hearthstone expansion has been revealed. There is a lot of area damage!
New cards for the upcoming Hearthstone expansion “The Witchwood” are currently being revealed every day. Through various community sites or streamers, we get a glimpse of the new cards, until slowly but surely all 135 new cards of the Witchwood are revealed. In the past hours, some highlights have flashed again, as the second Legendary for Warlocks has been unveiled. That’s right – in the Witchwood, all classes get two legendary minions.
New Minions Hunt Mastiff, Red Wasp, and Moor Huntress
The Hunt Mastiff is a new beast minion for Hunters. It costs 2 Mana, but has only stats of 2/1 – in compensation, it has the powerful keywords Echo and Charge. The dog can be summoned up to 5 times in the same turn and can be used to attack enemy minions. Alternatively, you can simply flood the board with these Mastiffs and hope that they survive until the next turn to then attack “to the face”.
For Warrior, the minion Red Wasp awaits. For 2 Mana, it has solid stats of 1/3 and Charge. Additionally, it gains +3 Attack when it is damaged, allowing it to hit hard by the second turn. Earlier, this would have been a “Enrage” effect, but those will be removed from the game with the Witchwood.
The Moor Huntress awaits as a neutral minion. For 5 Mana, it has powerful stats of 5/8 and Charge to strike immediately. However, as a Battlecry, it summons 2 Swamp Elementals for the opponent, each with 2/1 in stats. Paired with cards like the Mind Control, it can be really powerful – as sometimes you want the opponent to have many minions on the board.
New Warlock Legendary Lord Godfrey, the big brother of Soulfire
The highlight of the latest reveals is Lord Godfrey. This legendary minion for Warlocks costs 7 Mana and has only weak stats of 4/4. However, his Battlecry makes him a true monster in the area of area spells. He deals 2 damage to all other minions. If a minion dies, this Battlecry is repeated – as long as no minion dies from it.
This makes Godfrey basically the “big brother” of Soulfire and is likely to take the 7-Mana slot in almost every future Warlock deck!
