Vermintide is a brutally difficult game, in which you can invest hundreds of hours at increasing difficulty. Whether you are clearing beginner levels at the lowest difficulty or playing as a champion: you must be able to play your class correctly and learn.

Vermintide 2 Class Guide: Bardin Goreksson
Bardin is the dwarf of the group. He drinks and stinks and is always at odds with the elf Kerillian about who kills more rats and northerners (quote: “Whatever the elf kills, I kill it more!”).
Level 1 – Ranger Veteran
Specializing in ranged combat and deception, Bardin uses his skills as a ranger to support his group.
- When you use your ability “Retreat”, you disappear into a smoke bomb. You will generally not be attacked by enemies again, and can safely revive or heal allies.
- Elite enemies drop ammunition upon death. The amount depends on the selected weapon. Use the ammunition to be even more effective with your increased ammunition capacity and faster reload rate.
- The Ranger Veteran is a group supporter and plays best as fire protection from a distance. A focus on improved healing and revival is recommended.
Level 7 – Ironbreaker
With heavy armor and shield, Bardin as an Ironbreaker is trained to withstand massive hordes of enemies in deep cave systems.
- You can completely ignore attacks with your passive ability. With the right timing, you can block even strong attacks from bosses for the group.
- Use your ability “Impenetrable” when you are surrounded and your team needs help. For the next seconds, all human-sized units will focus on you, and your group can deal with them in peace.
- Only the Ironbreaker can use flamethrowers. With them, you can hold off or kill many enemies. But beware, you will die immediately if you overheat!
- Make sure nothing happens to your group and always stand at the front. But don’t run too far ahead and think about attacks from behind.
Level 12 – Slayer
With two axes, the dwarf becomes a berserker and carves a path through the enemies. He has sworn to fall only in battle with an overwhelmingly powerful foe.
- The only class that does not carry a ranged weapon. Plan your two melee weapons accordingly.
- Your ability “Jump” is available very often. Use it frequently to reposition yourself in fights, to escape, to avoid attacks, and to increase your attack speed.
- The Slayer is a melee fighter, but not very robust. Remember to have a tank in the group with whom you can coordinate.
Premium Class: Outcast Engineer
To play the Outcast Engineer, you need to purchase the “Outcast Engineer” DLC. Unlike Bardin’s other classes, the Engineer relies on the use of his self-built weapons, especially his deadly Gatling gun.
- You should maximize the use of your steam-powered crank weapon. Use it whenever possible to quickly reset the one-minute cooldown. Elixirs do not help you here, as they do with other classes.
- As an engineer, you have access to stronger bombs and the ability to carry more of them. Coordinate with the team so that you are more likely to be supplied with grenades to maximize your effectiveness.
- Always choose the talent “Improved Power” at level 15. It increases the efficiency of all your firearms that you rely on as an engineer.
- You enhance the ranged combat of all nearby allies. The engineer combines excellently with the Waystalker (Kerillian) and the Bounty Hunter (Saltzbrand).
