The dark world of Warhammer will soon be experienced again in an MMORPG – as a Free2Play mobile game. First images look promising.
What is Warhammer Odyssey? The city of Marienburg in the Old World is overrun by monsters. You set out as a mercenary to push back the enemies together with your friends.
Together, you fight your way through several areas, where even boss enemies await you. The game focuses on PvE. However, the developers also have plans regarding PvP. They will talk about that at a later time.
Warhammer Odyssey has nothing to do with the MMORPG Warhammer Online. Instead, it follows the current trend of mobile MMORPGs. No wonder, mobile games are very successful.
Six classes, groups, and many play areas
What classes are there? You create your hero from six classes:
- High Elf Archmage
- High Elf Shadow Warrior
- Human Witch Hunter
- Human Warrior Priest
- Dwarf Slayer
- Dwarf Engineer
Each class has unique abilities that you must master and use tactically. These include:
- Lightning-fast attacks and debuffs of the Witch Hunter
- Battle spells and healing of the Archmage
How do you find groups? To team up with other players and defeat enemies together, you have the option to form a so-called Mercenary Company. This is probably a kind of guild. Exact information will follow.
What areas do you explore? At the start, several locations will be available to you, which fans of Warhammer might recognize. These include
- the city of Marienburg
- the Drakwald Forest
- the Wasteland
What about autoplay? Many mobile MMORPGs offer autoplay for convenience. Battles then play out automatically, or you can have quests completed automatically.
This will not be the case with Warhammer Odyssey. The developers want their game to play very similarly to an MMORPG on PC.
Regular content is planned
What about new content? The developers promise to regularly release content in the form of additional story episodes. These will introduce more areas, new enemies, bosses and more.
During your adventures, you should even encounter well-known characters from the Warhammer world.
