The game studio Bigben Games has announced a new hack & slash with a trailer, which is set to be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Warhammer: Chaosbane is expected to hit the market in June 2019.
What is Warhammer: Chaosbane? Warhammer: Chaosbane is a Diablo-like hack & slash set in the fantasy universe of the Warhammer franchise. You will have the opportunity to confront the forces of chaos with magic and sword.
Chaosbane will be a coop game where you can play in a group of up to four people and face the dangers together. You will have four classes available:
- Human (Imperial Soldier, Tank)
- High Elf (Cleric/Mage, DPS and Group Control)
- Dwarf (Berserker/Slayer)
- Wood Elf (Ranger)
In dozens of dungeons, you will face countless enemies and even bosses who have devoted themselves to the chaos gods, such as the disgusting plague god Nurgle. The game is rated for ages 16 and is a Warhammer title, which is already known for its bloody scenes and brutality.
How can I play Warhammer: Chaosbane? In March and April, there will be a beta each month. To play the beta, you must preorder the game. You can do this through the official Chaosbane shop.
Chaosbane will be released on June 4, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you also preorder the Digital Deluxe or Magnus editions, you can start playing 4 days earlier at release.

Some players are skeptical: The response to the announcement is mixed. Some fans, especially on reddit, are not yet sure how good Chaosbane will be. One user writes that the trailer looks rather poor and not well prepared, as everything that has been seen of the game.
It has even been compared to Diablo Immortal, which looks smoother as a mobile game and might not be so bad after all. The user Judge_Ravina attributes this to the gaming policies of the Warhammer owner Games Workshop:
Most Warhammer and 40k games look like they come 5–10 years late, simply because Games Workshop does not care about the quality of the games. Hence, there is also the enormous difference between their hits and failures.
Many of the discussants agree and see in the licenses merely the opportunity for Games Workshop to promote the franchise.
There are also fans with optimism: Other fans are looking forward to Chaosbane and can hardly wait for the launch. Apparently, the community is waiting for a new hack & slash and more content related to Warhammer.
The similarity to the 2018 released Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has been noted, as the character classes from Vermintide are quite similar or even identical. As a Diablo 3 clone, it could be imagined quite well.
