At the Xbox Games Showcase, a co-op shooter was presented with Warhammer 40k: Darktide. And this shooter could very well follow in the footsteps of Vermintide.
What is Darktide? In Darktide, you take on the role of a group of imperial soldiers who are on a mission from the Inquisitor. In the depths of the mega-city Tertium, you must fight against zombie-like creatures that make your life difficult.
What can players expect? Darktide is an action shooter for 4 players. The developer behind it is Fatshark. They have also made the games Warhammer: Vermintide 1 and 2. Vermintide 2 was released back in March 2018 and came to PlayStation 4 in late 2019, where it was quite successful.
It can therefore be assumed that the developer will remain true to its roots and that co-op teams can expect a tough game in the style of Vermintide – especially since the names are suspiciously similar and a team of four characters is prominently showcased.

Warhammer 40k paints a bleak picture of the future in about 40,000 years in a world full of war. Humans endlessly fight in space against brutal space insects, undead Egyptian robots, disgusting Chaos demons from another dimension, and more. Not a nice place to live.
When will Darktide be released? So far, only the year 2021 has been confirmed for the release.
For which platforms will Darktide be released? The game will be available through Steam for PC and for the Xbox Series X.
Darktide might go in the same direction as Vermintide
What is Vermintide 2? Vermintide 2 is dark, brutal, and offers hardcore co-op action in the Warhammer 40K universe.
Even here, the gameplay is simple: four heroes are sent on a mission where they must fight through masses of enemies and bosses. This principle has already been applied by the zombie co-op shooter Left 4 Dead in this way.
The first images from the trailer at least suggest that players can also expect hordes of enemies in the depths.
