At the beginning of December, PC players of Warframe were finally able to find out what a Tenno is with the quest ‘The Second Dream’. Starting today, PS4 followers of the free-to-play title can also experience this. With Update 18, a cinematic quest has been delivered for the first time, answering some important fundamental questions of the game while also bringing many changes. We give you an insight into what the big update includes and introduce you to the new Warframe ‘Nezha’.
In the evening hours today, it will go live for PS4 players. However, certification from Microsoft is still pending. One reason could be the different submission times for Sony and Microsoft, as they received their version for analysis a day later. However, the developer Digital Extremes assumes that Xbox players will not have to wait much longer either.
Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:
New Warframe: Ivara
Her abilities are:
- Quiver – Switches and shoots one of four tactical arrows.
- Navigator – Takes control of the projectile and guides it to the target.
- Stalking – Become invisible, steal loot from unsuspecting enemies, and then go on the offensive with increased headshot damage.
- Artemis Bow – Summons a powerful bow and unleashes a devastating volley of arrows.
The 4 possible arrows with Quiver:
- Disguise Arrow: Creates a defensive bubble that disguises allies and protects them from attacks.
- Wire Arrow: Fires a zip line.
- Sleep Arrow: Puts the target into temporary slumber.
- Noise Arrow: Makes a sound upon impact that attracts enemies.
If you want to craft Ivara yourself, you can find her individual components in espionage missions of varying difficulty.
Operations Missions
From mastery rank 4, you have access to 3 challenging endgame missions daily, which build on each other. Each has its own prerequisites and enemy modifiers. For example, in the last mission, where you face an enemy level of 80-100, you may need to survive for 20 minutes and may only carry a melee weapon. In these operations missions, you will also find the parts of the new Warframe “Nezha”.
Warframe Nezha
After the Monkey King “Wukong”, “Nezha” is the second character that was exclusively available to players of the Chinese Warframe version at release and has now made its way into the global game.
His abilities are:

- Firewalker – Ignite your path, incinerate enemies, and purify allies.
- Flaming Chakra – Throw a ring of fire that burns enemies and triggers a healing wave upon their death. Reactivating teleports you to the location of the flames.
- Defensive Halo – Create a protective ring of fire that stuns enemies who get too close.
- Holy Spears – Pin nearby enemies with spears that erupt from the ground.
Additionally, Warframe brings you into the holiday spirit with various limited-time Christmas decorations. You can put an elf hat on your Kubrow or smash your enemies in melee with a candy cane.
If you haven’t checked back in Warframe for a while, Update 18 is the best time to do so. But be careful: in order to play the quest ‘The Second Dream’, you must have completed the previous quest, ‘Natah’. Lastly, here are a few more noteworthy new features of the update:

- New Level Set: Orokin Moon
- Some new weapons, Syandanas, and a new landing ship, the Scimitar.
- Maroo’s Bazaar: A trading post where you can complete your trades, found on Earth.
- The Focus System: A new way to earn XP with fully leveled weapons and/or Warframes, allowing you to unlock and upgrade different talents.
- Revives 2.0: You now have 4 revives available per mission. Upon returning to your landing ship, these will be replenished between missions.
