The current update “Veilbreaker” brought some changes to the MMO Warframe. Along with new content, there were also a few balance adjustments that players are very unhappy with.
Warframe is a free-to-play looter shooter from 2013 developed by Digital Extremes. The Steam reviews have always been largely positive, with the MMO having 88% positive ratings recently. However, in the last 30 days, only 27% of the reviews have been positive.
On September 7th, Warframe received the update “Veilbreaker”, which has not been well received by the players.
What’s new? These changes are part of the update:
- The story quest “Veilbreaker”. To play it, you must first complete the previous story quests.
- By completing the quest, you unlock new weekly content where you can farm Archon shards. This improves your equipment. There is one shard available for each of the “Archon Hunts”.
- There is no more sniper and shotgun ammunition, only primary, secondary, and heavy ammunition.
- Numerous weapons have been nerfed, including melee weapons.
With the update, a legendary hero also returns:
Players react negatively to nerfs and annoying grinding
This is why players are reacting negatively to the update: According to angry Steam reviews, to play the new content, you first have to grind for days. Warframe now seems to be implementing caps on gathering certain achievements.
This means you can only earn a specific amount daily, so you need to log in every day. Warframe has thereby taken on the character of a mobile game.
Players are particularly negative about the nerf to melee weapons, which were previously the best. Now they are significantly weaker. While there are new mods to improve them, these also require another long grind.
Nerfs to AoE weapons and the reduction of maximum ammunition also disturb players in Warframe.
This is what the community says: We at MeinMMO have collected some opinions from the reviews to better illustrate the situation:
- Inspire says: “The game should be called Nerframe.”
- Skilpadije says: “It was a great game and the 1300 hours were worth it. But starting with it now wouldn’t be worth it, better stay away from it.”
- .exe says: “Run! Now!”
- JamesVahn says: “Nerf nerf nerf and more nerfs are coming. I just don’t understand Digital Extremes. They apparently don’t want people to enjoy a PvE game.”
What do you think of the Veilbreaker update in Warframe? Are you also angry about the nerfs and changes? Or are you satisfied with the balance patches? Do you actively play the MMO? How many play hours do you have? Feel free to tell us in the comments here on MeinMMO!
