The Free2Play MMO Warframe has released a new, free update with The New War. There is now a new trailer. MeinMMO summarizes for you what is included in the new DLC.
What kind of DLC is this? “The New War” was released today, on December 15, and it aims to conclude the most important storylines of Warframe up to now. The expansion marks the first major story progression after nearly 4 years.

The New War brings a new story chapter and new Warframe
What is included in the new Warframe DLC? In The New War, you will find a new story chapter. Unlike previous updates, the new story content can only be played solo. In this, you will control both your Tenno and other characters from the story.
The developers place a lot of emphasis on the story in this DLC and portray it from the perspectives of multiple characters. It concludes many of the ongoing plotlines and is supposed to leave “scars in the world of Warframe”, as Community Manager Rebecca Ford puts it.
The new approach has already excited thousands of fans in advance when the first trailer was unveiled.

How much playtime does the story offer? The New War itself is supposed to take about 5 hours. New players will need about 30 hours of playtime to get to The New War, as you must complete all chapters of the main storyline beforehand.
In addition to the free story chapter, a new Warframe named Caliban joins the game.
What kind of Warframe is this? It is a Sentient Warframe, a mix of Sentient and Tenno, with special abilities. The Caliban collection includes the following items:
- Caliban Warframe
- Venato Sense, created from a part of a fallen Eidolon
- Neurovyre Syandana
- Sporavyre Sugatra
You will receive the Warframe as part of one of the supporter packs available for purchase. Depending on the package, you will also receive some additional bonuses along with the Warframe:
