The Tenno have been waiting for a long time for the major update “Fortuna” in Warframe. It now has a release date for PC: November has been set as the target. The huge open-world expansion could elevate Warframe to the next level.
Fortuna finally has a release window: The “Update” Fortuna was the highlight of TennoCon in July 2018. Back then at the convention, it was mentioned that the update should be released in late summer or early autumn 2018.
Indeed, Warframe did not make that timeframe anymore. It will likely be late autumn.
Fortuna is now announced for November 2018 on PC. Digital Extremes casually announced this via Twitter.
For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, “Fortuna” will be decided a few weeks later. Digital Extremes speaks of “soon thereafter.”
This is what is so great about Fortuna: The special thing about Fortuna is that it is supposed to be another open-world update. However, the open world is expected to be significantly larger than in “Plains of Eidolon.” It is said to be 4 to 5 times the size of the open world compared to the Plains of Eidolon.
Plains of Eidolon already elevated Warframe in 2017 and suddenly expanded the lobby shooter towards “MMO” with an open world.
With Fortuna, further “MMO” elements will now be added to Warframe.
- a large open world on Venus is coming
- players can fly through the open world on a hoverboard.
- and they can hunt animals in Warframe.
This is the release trailer for Fortuna:
A special highlight at TennoCon 2018 was certainly the space battles under the codename: Railjack. They left the TennoCon audience in awe. This update is expected to come to Warframe completely after Fortuna.
But even the other elements could give Warframe a new boost by the end of the year.
After several months of focus on the port to the Nintendo Switch, the “Fortuna” update is eagerly awaited. This will likely be the next highlight of the Warframe year 2018 after the popular Sacrifice update in June.
