Warframe has made its breakthrough with the latest update “Plains of Eidolon”. Player numbers are exploding on Steam right now, pushing the MMO shooter to 4th place in the Steam charts.
Warframe is a free online shooter by Digital Extremes, reminiscent of Destiny, which was released back in 2013. Since its release, a loyal and enthusiastic player base has developed. Warframe is rated “very positive” by 91% of players on Steam. The game has grown mainly through strong word-of-mouth.

Now, in October 2017, Warframe has achieved its big breakthrough.

Warframe climbs to 4th place in the Steam charts – now ahead of GTA 5
The last player record was 69,000 logged-in players at the same time. This record was triggered in March 2017 by the musical update “Octavia’s Anthem“.
The expansion Plains of Eidolon has caused a real explosion on Steam. With the update, Warframe was able to register almost 118,000 players at the same time.
This record currently pushes Warframe to 4th place in the Steam charts, placing the cooperative online shooter ahead of “big” games like Middle-earth 2 or GTA 5.
