Digital Extremes revealed more information in a live stream about the future of Warframe in 2022. They also announced a new expansion. It is called Angels of the Zariman. MeinMMO summarizes all known information for you.
What kind of expansion is this? According to the developers, Angels of the Zariman is supposed to connect to the last expansion “The New War”.
This could convince players and is reportedly, according to Digital Extremes, the largest story update in Warframe.
- It brought a story chapter that could only be played solo.
- You controlled your Tenno, but also other characters.
- Multiple storylines were completed.
- Among other things, there was a new Warframe with the Caliban collection.
In a previous outlook for 2022, we speculate that a sort of Warframe 2.0 may appear.

Warframe expansion brings new content – Connects to The New War, pleasing players
This is what we know about the expansion: According to the developers, the nature of the content is supposed to connect to The New War. How exactly, they did not reveal.
However, some things have already been confirmed:
- At least two new game modes.
- A new quest.
- A new Warframe.
- Some quality-of-life improvements.
There are no specific details on this yet.
When will the expansion be released? We still don’t have exact dates for the release of the next expansion. However, we do know with which patch Angels of the Zariman is supposed to come. The expansion will be part of Update 31.5.
When will there be new information? In February, there is supposed to be another Dev stream, where the content will be presented.
This is how players are reacting: One aspect, in particular, is positively received by fans. The developers’ statement that they want to connect to The New War is well received.
In a reddit post, players are already discussing possible content and what they would like to see. User ZyfraWF speculates: “I am very excited […] about what it means to be able to play with the Operator. Will there be new game modes with the Operator? What kind of missions would you like to see there?”
Operator-specific events are a common wish from the community. However, not everyone agrees that a new Warframe is needed.
Some players are now feeling that the number of game modes is becoming too large. Vaporninja wrote on Twitter about this:
I implore you, please do not add more game modes. We do not want more game modes that will be abandoned a month later, but we want you to build upon existing game modes. Support the content that already exists instead of constantly evolving it.
So there are also players who are not enthusiastic about new content in every respect. Some are even saying that the developers should first fix the existing Warframes before adding new ones.
