The Free2Play MMO Warframe has made it to the Top 3 on Steam.
Warframe has been in a peculiar situation for years. It has fervent devotees who swear you’re missing out if you don’t indulge in the Warframe craze. However, it has largely passed by the mainstream all these years. While everyone acknowledges that the game is doing well and is developed with heart and brains, the big breakthrough has yet to happen. One feels visibly at home as an underdog in a world of MMO shooters, where Destiny and The Division are the major players.
Those times could now be over.
Last weekend, Warframe suddenly appeared in the Top 3 on Steam. The “culprit” is apparently the expansion “The War Within” – “The Inner War.”
70,000 players had the game online simultaneously. 1.2 million hours have been spent by Warframe players in the Free2Play shooter. By the way, it’s available not only for PC but also for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
