The Free2Play online shooter Warface has been quite popular on PC for years. This autumn, the game is expected to arrive on consoles, and the battle royale mode is set to double in size.
What is Warface? Warface is a Free2Play online shooter from 2013. You play as an elite soldier from one of four classes. This leads you into various multiplayer PvP or PvE modes. The game has a solid fanbase and recently introduced a battle royale mode. In that mode, however, only 16 players initially fight for survival.
However, that should change soon.
Console launch in autumn
Was Warface not already on consoles? Indeed, there was once a version of Warface for the old Xbox 360. However, that version was discontinued in 2015. Now, a relaunch of the title is imminent on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The shooter is set to reappear on current-gen consoles in September 2018.
What is special about the console version? The console versions of Warface will have a UI adapted for controllers and will feature aim assist. This will help you aim better with the gamepad.
Is there crossplay? Unfortunately no, the developers will release each version separately. Since PC players have an unfair advantage with mouse and keyboard, there will be no crossplay with PC.
What about Battle Royale? The new battle royale mode will also be included on consoles. And it will be bigger! The developers plan to release an update in September that will increase the BR mode from 16 to 32 players.
