War Thunder: Gatling Flak and Desert Maps – Update 1.63 “Desert Hunters” brings a lot of content

War Thunder raises the stakes, as Update 1.68 “Desert Hunters” brings benefits not only for desert region enthusiasts. Instead, we get a plethora of new tanks and planes, including the legendary M163 Vulcan or the German 88 Flak on a half-track vehicle.

Anyone who likes to fire until the barrels glow should log into Gaijin Entertainment’s tank and plane MMO for the current Update 1.68 of War Thunder. Numerous high-tier anti-aircraft vehicles are now in the game, including the German Gepard, the Russian ZSU-23-4 Shilka, and the legendary M163 Vulcan. The latter carries the namesake Vulcan Gatling gun, which unleashes a true deluge of projectiles and riddles any unfortunate aircraft in its sights within seconds!

More tanks, maps, and planes

But there are also regular tanks in abundance in the update, including the Leopard A1A1 and the Swingfire missile launcher tank from Armored Warfare known from the UK. However, there’s also a lot happening in the air, for instance, the gigantic flying boat BV 238 comes, which, with its 60 meters wingspan, will be the largest aircraft in the game to date.

All these new toys can be tried out on two new maps. One is the desert of the Sinai Peninsula, already known from Battlefield 1. It is hot and dusty there, and the rugged desert offers good opportunities for flanking maneuvers. Air combatants can let loose in a mountainous region in Greece and engage in wild dogfights between the picturesque mountain villages.
