The online game War Thunder can be described as a major competitor to World of Tanks, which however has an advantage.
Different battles, such as land and air battles, do not take place in separate games, but in one. This means that while some players are fighting with their tanks on an island, others are flying combat aircraft through the air, engaging in heated battles above the clouds. These battles even have an impact on one another.
The naval battles are coming!
What is still missing are naval battles. However, that will change soon. Gaijin Entertainment is currently working on several updates for War Thunder, including naval battles. During gamescom, the developers are supposedly going to reveal more about it; an official announcement is still pending. First screenshots show a Victorian frigate in battle, which could be an indication that a new scenario or simply interesting ships will be introduced. A test of the naval combat system is scheduled to follow in the second half of the year.
Additionally, the developers are working on a new battlefield set in China, and there are plans for Japanese vehicles. Furthermore, the e-sports tournament system is currently being tested. The team is also working on a completely new game that will focus on virtual reality. This game is set to be presented in more detail during gamescom.
