Anyone wanting to play The Elder Scrolls Online on PC currently has to endure a lengthy waiting period before they can join. A player on Reddit is using the time to cook.
That is currently the problem in ESO: Anyone wanting to have a cozy session of ESO in the evening must bring patience if they are in Europe and playing on PC.
Since the last patch, you can no longer simply log into the game and start playing immediately.
Queues are Breaking Every Limit
Only with extreme luck does one catch a gap in the player rush or is left with a waiting time of three to nine minutes. Most currently have to wait around 20 minutes before they can start. Reports of extreme cases with waiting times of over 40 minutes are actually quite frequent.
In the forums, fans are venting their frustration and loudly complaining about how much lifetime they have already lost.
Cooking Instead of Gaming
One player used the extreme waiting time as follows: The absurdities the queues can create is highlighted by a striking example from Reddit. A user on Reddit writes that after joining the queue, he first went to the kitchen to cook something.
At least the time was well spent. But when he settled back in front of the screen 25 minutes later with his delicious meal to enjoy while gaming, he got the shock!
A whole 17 minutes and 37 seconds were still remaining.
So the good fellow grabbed his smartphone to photograph the food and the message to share the whole mess with the rest of the world and to better cope with his disappointment.
Here’s how the snapshot was received on Reddit: He apparently had success. On Reddit, he gathered nearly 100 upvotes and many other users expressed their sympathy. Many had also experienced waiting times of around forty minutes.
What the hell is that on the plate? Some comments also dealt with the food depicted. The user Saklymah asked what the “thing” next to the rice is supposed to be.
ReadDeadOscar, from whom the post originates, replied: “Meat, fried in garlic butter, with onions and soy sauce. Doused with a bit of lemon juice.” Well, if that’s the case… Enjoy your meal!
In any case, the long waiting times mean that ESO is probably doing quite well right now.
