Last Sunday, the People’s Choice Awards 2024 were awarded, and viewers could vote for their Movie Action Star of the Year. A young actress won, beating out strong competitors.
On February 18, 2024, viewers could vote for their favorites in the film and series landscape through fan voting. The best action star of the year in films was also awarded.
Who won the title of Movie Action Star of the Year? Instead of well-known names in the genre like Tom Cruise or Keanu Reeves, Rachel Zegler, the lead actress of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, won the viewer voting.

In the film, the 22-year-old played Lucy Gray Baird, a participant in the 10th Hunger Games who fights for her life as the District 12 tribute.

I love movies, I love making them, and I am a movie fan, and tonight I am surrounded by movie fans, and by movie fans who voted, and I am so grateful to everyone who has ever bought a ticket and seen something that so many people have created.
I have believed for so long that I don’t fit in this industry, but tonight you made me feel like I don’t have to change to be chosen, and I am so thankful to you.
She then thanked several individuals involved in the film, her family, and the author of the book adaptation.
