In Pokémon GO, the Buddy Event has started and brings new quests, raid bosses, and even Fleknoil in the wild. We provide you with an overview of all the novelties.
This is the Buddy Event: For a week, you can now receive bonuses related to your buddy. In line with this, Pokémon like Volbeat, Illumise, and Fleknoil will be available in quests and in the wild until April 27. Additionally, there are brand new raid bosses.
The event has been live in Germany for only a few hours, but in other countries, it has already been live for half a day, so a lot can be said about the spawns and bonuses.
Buddy Event with Fleknoil, Volbeat, and Illumise
These are the quests: In total, there are 4 new quests that focus entirely on your buddy. At the end, there are Pokémon as rewards:
- Feed your buddy a snack
- Reward: Encounter with an Alolan Meowth
- Take a snapshot of your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with a Volbeat
- Play with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with an Illumise
- Earn a candy by walking with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with a Fleknoil
Each of these quests is definitely worth it. Illumise, Volbeat, and Alolan Meowth are all available as Shinies, and the associated field researches can be completed quickly. Fleknoil, on the other hand, was previously only available for one month in research breakthroughs. It is indeed a rare Pokémon.
Which new Shinies are available? There are no major surprises. However, for the first time, Volbeat and Illumise can be caught as Shinies.
Additionally, you can catch Alolan Meowth as Shinies in the wild. The Alolan Pokémon is usually not found in the wild.
Look forward to these spawns: In addition to the aforementioned Shinies, there are also other interesting spawns. Pokémon like Chansey, Barplume, and Yorkleff appear more frequently in the wild. Anyone who still needs Shinies should take advantage of the opportunity during the event.
These raid bosses are available: The Buddy Event also brings entirely new raid bosses into play. Here’s the list:
