Briana White is a streamer on Twitch and was able to voice a character in the remake of Final Fantasy VII. She heard herself for the first time live on stream and broke down in tears.
What happened on the stream? On April 10, the remake of Final Fantasy VII was released, which our author Irina Moritz has already presented in detail. The streamer Briana White showcased the RPG live on her Twitch account right at the start.
As she progressed, she encountered the character Aerith Gainsborough, whom she had voiced in the English version of the game. It was her first job as a voice actress, and correspondingly emotional was the meeting between the two.
On Twitter, she shared a clip where she is crying with joy. This tweet has already received 20,000 likes and over 4,100 retweets.
For years, she has been active on the internet with her YouTube channel Strange Rebel Gaming, which has over 130,000 subscribers. On Twitch, she is a partner and has 14,270 followers.
Briana was determined to get a role in FFVII
What is special about the voice role? As Briana revealed in an interview series, she was determined to have a voice role in the remake of FFVII, even though she had not played the original.
Moreover, she had had no experience as a voice actress up until then. Nevertheless, she managed to impress during the audition, as she recounted:
I had no experience with voice-over, but many hours with video games. When I came in and did the combat grunts – because they wanted to ensure I could do the ‘Ugh!’, ‘Ahh!’, the hits and the injuries and all that stuff – I knew exactly how they should sound.
I have played so many video games. I nailed it perfectly right away.

To immerse herself in the character, she examined Aerith Gainsborough in various games, articles, and fan forums, trying to learn from them.
In the end, a close bond developed between the two characters:
In my excitement for this project, I went out and got a tattoo of Aerith’s flower – a lily. I actually think of her as part of me now.

FFVII brings tears: That the connection is indeed close was also evident in the reaction during the livestream. However, Briana was not the only one who showed a very emotional reaction to the FFVII remake.
Even YouTuber Maximilian Dood had a special experience that moved him to tears. The developers are said to have watched his reaction video whenever they were having a tough time during development.
