In Pokémon GO, you will soon find the legendary Pokémon Virizion. But how strong will it be and are the raids worth it? We provide an overview.
When is Virizion coming? The Pokémon will be available in raids on December 17 at 10 PM. It will then remain throughout the New Year until January 7.
During this period, you will encounter Virizion in Level 5 raids. In addition to Virizion, other legendary Pokémon will also find their way back into the game in December.
How strong will Virizion be in Pokémon GO?
These are its stats: To give you an initial idea of Virizion, here are its stats:
- Attack value: 192
- Defense value: 229
- HP value: 209
- Max CP: 3022
What can we conclude from this? Virizion will have no use in raids or gyms. Its attack value is disastrous, and it also learns poor moves.
This means Virizion cannot learn a Grass-type quick move, and its moves do not shine either.
Will it be good for PvP? If you like to battle against other trainers, you can rely more on Virizion. It learns Quick Attack, a quick move that can charge its charged move quickly. This makes it somewhat useful, but it is not among the top attackers in the PvP mode.
This is why Virizion is worth it: The legendary Pokémon is very easy to defeat in pairs. You can complete many raids in duo without significant problems.
It’s worth it, as the old amount of special candies from raids is back. You also receive more useful items here, and for players still focusing on XP, you get a lot of experience points here.
How can it be countered? Virizion is of Grass and Fighting type. Therefore, it is vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic, Fairy, and Flying types. It has even a double weakness to Flying.
Thus, the best attackers are of Flying type. These are Pokémon like Swellow or Staraptor, which haven’t really been necessary to use often. We will show you the best counters against Virizion in detail upon the release of the Pokémon.
