With Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, Ubisoft has announced a new game in the successful franchise The Division. However, the new title is set to release for Android and iOS. The trailer shows New York after the outbreak of the pandemic.
What is known about the game so far? Apart from the trailer, not many details have been shared. Resurgence is supposed to offer a classic gaming experience of The Division:
- You explore an open, free game world where you can encounter civilians and hostile factions.
- This world takes place in a fictional New York but is expected to provide a completely new perspective on the events of The Division 1 and 2.
- Collecting loot will be important, and there should be “lots” of gear and weapons.
- The graphics are supposed to be particularly high quality, which the trailer also supports.
- You can play solo or cooperatively with friends.
When will the game be released? Resurgence is set to be released as a free-to-play title for mobile devices. However, there is no exact release date yet.
However, you can already register for a closed alpha on the official website (via Ubisoft).
Is this the only title in development for The Division? No. The Division Heartland, a new shooter for PC, was already announced in May 2021. It was originally supposed to release in 2021/22 but has been postponed for at least a year.
