In the latest trailer for the major expansion of Monster Hunter Rise, “Sunbreak”, Capcom showcases several new features that await you in the large DLC. It also introduces a brand new feature that has never been seen in the series: NPC companions that support you on your hunts.
What kind of expansion is this? Similar to Monster Hunter World, the PC and Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Rise is also getting a major DLC.
It brings among others:
- Master Rank (Like G-Rank in the older titles)
- New areas
- New monsters
- New moves
- and also other, brand new content.
However, the biggest reveal in the new trailer was the new NPC companions that you can take on hunts. As Capcom revealed in a large livestream, these NPCs have different traits, equipment, and can even heal you.
Aside from that, the trailer presents the mysterious plot of the expansion, where you must investigate the new flagship monster Malzeno. This is a Elder Dragon and a mix between a dragon and a vampire bat. Apparently, this terrifying monster is capable of draining the life from its victims.
