At the Xbox Games Showcase Extended, a new exclusive game for Xbox and PC was announced: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The asymmetrical PvP game takes inspiration from the well-known horror film and mixes it with gameplay from Dead by Daylight.
What kind of game is this? In Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you apparently play as the infamous killer from the same-named film: Leatherface. He hunts people through his front yard on a farm in Texas with a chainsaw.
The visible gameplay is very reminiscent of Dead by Daylight. Both games are asymmetrical PvP games where a killer faces off against “survivors.” In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, however, you have to activate power boxes instead of generators.
Leatherface is already one of the killers in Dead by Daylight, albeit under a different name. It’s still unclear where the major differences lie. Detailed information is currently lacking. The game was first introduced in 2021.
New are the release date and that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be playable from day one in the Xbox Game Pass, along with 36 other new releases until 2023.
When and where will The Texas Chainsaw Massacre be released? The release is promised for 2023 for Xbox and PC, but a more specific date is still missing. Whether a version for PlayStation will also be released is not yet known.
