The developers of the MMORPG Albion Online have provided some new information about the plans for the next content update in their latest dev update, and especially solo players are excited.
Why are solo players excited? Albion Online talked about the upcoming content update in the dev update. In the comments on YouTube, the graphical overhaul of the “Roads of Avalon” and especially the new solo content received positive feedback.

Albion Online introduces “the Mists”
What new solo content will there be? The new content will include an area called “the Mists”, whose gameplay is expected to be a mix of solo PvE and PvP.
What distinguishes the Mists? According to Sandbox Interactive, the new area is set to become the most magical region of Albion, featuring new music and new creatures (via AlbionOnline.com).
Access to the Mists is said by the developers to be a “network of unpredictable, temporary connections”. The entrances to the Mists will appear randomly and will be time-limited. Additionally, each entrance to the new area will only allow one player to enter at a time before disappearing.
The City of Mists: Within the Mists there is also “The City of Mists”. This is intended to serve as a hub for trade and other activities, as well as a base for advanced solo players and small groups.
The city also does not have a fixed position and is described by the developers as “floating within the Mists”. According to the developers, it provides direct access to the Roads of Avalon and the Mists, but also to other smaller contents.
The Roads of Avalon receive graphical overhaul
What will be changed in the Roads of Avalon? Sandbox Interactive states that they are responding to player feedback and will make the following changes to the Roads of Avalon with the next update:
- The Roads will also receive a graphical overhaul
- The Roads are intended to focus more on small group gameplay
- It should be easier to establish hideouts in the Roads
- It should be harder to control entire regions
- It should be harder to control high-value zones, making exploration in the Roads “more competitive and exciting”.
- Rewards will put more focus on group play
