Palworld (PC) shows a mix of Pokémon and shooter gameplay in the trailer. Fans even see a resemblance to well-known pocket monsters.
What kind of game is this? Palworld is a survival shooter developed by Pocketpair. In the trailers shown so far, the crazy title looks like an exaggerated version of Pokémon with firearms, even though the lead developer says that Palworld has nothing to do with Pokémon.
Despite the denied similarity, you can – like in Pokémon games – tame, collect and breed different monsters. The tamed monsters are called Pals and can be used for your survival fight.
They serve as mounts and workers for you. Moreover, you can use them as weapons or shields in battles. Additionally, not only the player but also the individual monsters are said to be able to use firearms such as assault rifles or even rocket launchers.
There is also expected to be the possibility to slaughter your own Pals to then eat them.
What do we know about the release? Palworld is set to release in 2023 for PC via Steam in Early Access.
