Redfall will be released in a few months. The cooperative shooter has now revealed its backstory and clarifies where the vampires you will fight in the game came from.
What kind of game is this? Redfall is a cooperative shooter that leads you to the namesake city “Redfall,” which is overrun by vampires.
In Redfall, you have to prove yourself as a vampire hunter with up to four players and take down the dark figures. The game features an open world where even NPCs wage war against each other.
The shooter developed by Arkane Studios was originally supposed to be released in summer 2022 on Xbox Series X/S & PC, but was delayed along with Starfield. The new release date is May 2, 2023.
What does the story trailer show? The new trailer for Redfall tells the story of the dark shooter. In the first minute, we learn that the vampires were once humans who transformed as a result of a scientific experiment.
A wealthy company that commissioned the research wanted to achieve immortality. But everything went wrong – who could have expected that – and the city was overwhelmed by dark forces.
Afterward, Redfall introduces us to the biggest dangers of the game – powerful vampires that are called “gods” by cultists. We glimpse the faces of The Hollow Man, Bloody Tom, Miss Whisper, and The Black Sun.

What do the players say? The comments on YouTube are mostly very positive and praise the trailer. Some players commend Arkane Studios’ creativity, while others are simply looking forward to the gaming experience.

In January 2023, the developers of Redfall also discussed the similarities of the cooperative title to other games. Arkane’s Creative Director Ricardo Bare rejected comparisons to horde shooters like Left 4 Dead.
