In the latest update of No Man’s Sky you can not only receive a new spaceship but also a robotic buddy. The science fiction game, which was harshly criticized at first, is now considered a prime example of successful development 7 years later.
What is this update about? The space survival game No Man’s Sky has been in a constant state of change since its release in 2016. Regularly, the ambitious title receives updates with new content and gameplay improvements.
The latest “Fractal Update” brings a new spaceship and an enhanced VR experience for PSVR2, as well as a small robot that accompanies you as a loyal friend on your journeys through the universe.
What does the Fractal Update include?
- Utopia Expedition
- An anomalous solar activity prevents the production of items in the Bakkin system. The so-called Utopia Foundation is launching a major reconstruction project, the Utopia Expedition, which you can join.
- Utopia Speeder Starship
- The Utopia Speeder Starship is a new spaceship that you will receive after completing the entire program of the Utopia Foundation.

- Motion Control on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch
- The “Motion Control” technique allows you to look around with a movement of the DualShocks/the JoyCons instead of using the sticks of the respective controllers.
- Update to the PSVR2 technology released on February 22 to provide a more immersive VR experience, received numerous improvements (base building, improved textures, overhaul of the VR galaxy map).
- Alien structures like monoliths and portals are now supposed to create a mysterious environment through fog and “dramatic visual effects.”
- Some “Quality of Life” adjustments.
