The pirate adventure Skull & Bones seemed to navigate aimlessly through a sea of development for a long time. But now there is finally new information and a long trailer over 7 minutes long that shows a lot of gameplay. The release is on November 8, 2022.
Skull & Bones was announced back in 2018 and then disappeared a bit into obscurity. With a stream, the people at Ubisoft have now reintroduced the game – with a new course.
The pirate adventure will be a kind of open-world shooter with loot elements.
We start with a small ship that can hardly defend itself against a shark. Gradually, we improve our ship, specialize our loadout, build deadlier weapons, and better ship armor to prove our courage against other, larger ships.
There are different types of ships with various advantages:
- Cargo ships (Minute 3:13)
- Slow, but with plenty of room for loot
- Navigation ships (Minute 3:24)
- Fast, but little room for loot and low health points
- Firepower ships (Minute 3:30)
- Lots of room for weapons, but poor maneuverability
Not all details are known yet. But it revolves a lot around looting, leveling, crafting, exploring, and of course ship battles, which take place either against NPCs or optionally against other players.
