Manufacturer Razer has introduced a gaming handheld. It is aimed primarily at users who want to game on the go and comes with plenty of features for gamers. MeinMMO briefly presents the device to you.

With Razer, another manufacturer has now announced a new device for mobile gamers. MeinMMO introduces what Razer has presented and what mobile gaming from Razer is expected to cost.
The Razer Edge is a gaming handheld with smartphone capabilities
What kind of device is it? The new handheld initially looks like a smartphone, to which the already known Razer Kishi controller is connected. Razer has introduced not just one device, but three variants:
- A Wi-Fi variant.
- A Founders Edition, which comes with a pair of in-ear headphones (Razer Hammerhead).
- And a version that is equipped with 5G.
Except for these small differences, all three devices have the same hardware. Both the Wi-Fi, Founders, and 5G variants feature the new Snapdragon processor G3x Gen, a display with Full HD+ and 144 Hz. Battery, internal storage (128 GB), and RAM size (8 GB) are also identical.
What games can you play on it? Razer relies on Android as the operating system and follows a similar path as Logitech with its G Cloud. You can primarily play mobile games with the Edge and use streaming services like Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now, or Steam Link. Thus, you cannot install Windows games on the device.
How much will the handheld cost?
- Prices start for the Wi-Fi variant at 399 US dollars.
- The Founders Edition is expected to cost 499 US dollars.
- For the 5G model, Razer has not yet presented prices, as the Razer Edge 5G will be exclusively available at Verizon. The final prices and availability will be announced by Verizon.
When can you buy the Razer Edge? The Razer Edge will initially only be available in the US market. Thus, Razer is following a similar path as Logitech, which also wants to offer its handheld first only in the US market. In the USA, the handheld will be available from January 2023.
