A small development team from Korea presents a Soulslike with multiplayer in the trailer, set to be released in 2023.
What game is it? Project Relic is the working title of a new multiplayer game being developed by 9 independent Korean developers. Even though the title does not yet have an official name, some information about the game is already known.
Project Relic is set to be a Soulslike that is expected to be released in 2023. A release is planned for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
However, it is still unclear whether the title will be available only for the current generation, namely PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, or also for the previous generation consisting of PS4 and Xbox One.
Action-packed battles with different characters
What does the trailer show? The first gameplay trailer of Project Relic gives us a first impression of the game’s graphic style and the design of the map. At the beginning, we see a remote area that could represent a forest, with numerous green plants, towering stone walls, a stream, and dense fog.
Shortly after, the trailer shows us a first brief fight against a non-human opponent. The player uses a type of short sword to take down his opponent.
Apart from first impressions of the map, the trailer also gives us a look at two different playable characters. The initially shown male character with the short sword switches to a woman with a long sword during the course of the trailer.
After defeating some smaller enemies with both characters, a montage of fight sequences from a boss battle follows. This takes place in a burning village.
Shortly after, we see more smaller adversaries with different kinds of weaponry. At the end of the trailer, we also learn the names of the two playable characters shown: The woman is called Kamel and the man is Yan.

Trailer receives praise, but also criticism
How was the trailer received? Overall, the trailer was well received by players on YouTube. Although the shown scenes were created during development and do not show a finished product, some players praise that the title looks good and they want to learn more about the game.
However, other players also express criticism. For instance, one person believes the camera is too close to the character and another YouTuber user states that it cannot stand out from other games.
