The new content update of Path of Exile is called Lake of Kalandra and brings new league content to the game – The Kalandra Challenge League. Additionally, extensive changes to the game have been introduced for update 3.19.0. A brief overview is available on MeinMMO.
When is the update coming? In the stream for the new update 3.19.0 of Path of Exile, it is stated that the update will start “next week”. Based on experience, the update is likely to come on Friday, August 19.
What’s included? The patch notes for 3.19.0 are already online and very extensive. Planned changes include adjustments to the existing challenge leagues Archnemesis, Beyond, and Harvest. Additionally, comprehensive adjustments in balancing are included.
However, new content is also generously provided. The highlight of the August update is the new “The Kalandra Challenge League”. As always, you need your own character that you can register in this league. There are also four new gems and 14 new unique items.

How does the new Challenge League work? The story is connected to Kalandra, a very well-known name in Path of Exile. One of the most valuable items is the “Mirror of Kalandra”, which also adorns the PoE logo and allows you to duplicate certain items.
A related mechanic is also used in the Challenge League, as you visit the “mirrored Lake”, which gives Kalandra her powers and can create reflections of enemies.
In a relatively small battlefield, specifically created for your combat, you fight these reflections and the challenge increases with each level.
You have the opportunity to control the challenges yourself, create the next level yourself, and influence it. You find special tablets that you place on a “Mirrored Tablet” to customize the arena or spawn specific enemies. These tablets can also be exchanged with other players.
What are the first player reactions? Extremely positive. Under the YouTube video on the main channel of Path of Exiles, almost every aspect of the trailer shown is praised – graphics, the re-balancing of certain items, the league, and new skills (via youtube.com).
