When you think of mech shooters, the name that comes to mind is Armored Core, but this time PlayStation has announced a new title. Synduality is its name and it takes you into a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world with your trusty mech buddy.
What kind of game is it? Synduality is a mech shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world where you try to survive. By chance, you then come across an AI in your last safe refuge that will accompany you on your journeys and support you. Many customization options ensure that you can even adjust your mech’s appearance and weaponry.
A vibrant world filled with dangers
What is Synduality about? In Synduality, the majority of the world has been ravaged by toxic rain. The remaining survivors have either been eaten by mutated beings or have managed to escape to an underground sanctuary called “Amasia”. As a survivor, you take on the role of a drifter.
Your task is to collect AO crystals, as this is the only way you can stay afloat. To do so, you use your own mech, also known as a cradle, to avoid dying in the rain. During your travels, you try to secure more terrain for the rest of humanity to enable a better future.
However, you do not have to embark on your journeys alone. By your side is a flying AI named “Magus”. She supports you in battles, gives you warnings and hints that make fighting and exploring easier.
The mech shooter isn’t an offline game. You can also participate online in various PvPvE modes where you encounter other players. However, be cautious, not every drifter is friendly.
On which consoles will the game be available? Although the game was presented by Sony, the title will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
When is the release? The game does not have an exact release date yet. At the end of the trailer, however, Bandai Namco dated the year 2023 as the release year. More information will likely be released over time.
What do you think of the mech shooter? Do you find it cool or can you not relate to the mix of realistic worlds and anime characters? Let us know in the comments!
