With Evercore Heroes, a new MMO starts today, on June 20th, in closed beta. Visually and fundamentally, the gameplay resembles League of Legends. However, while competitive gameplay is in the foreground, you do not have to fight against other players, but against PvE opponents.
What kind of game is this? In Evercore Heroes, you start together with three other players in a match. You play as one of the various heroes, who can take on the roles of tank, healer, and DPS. After that, you will be thrown into a match where you have to survive and collect the most points.
- At the start of the closed beta, there are 16 different characters.
- Each character has different passive abilities that you can configure according to your preferences.
- There are various maps with different tasks to complete during a match. Basically, it’s all about eliminating monster camps, gathering experience and gold, and becoming stronger.
- Four teams compete against each other simultaneously. Regularly, the team that ranks last will be eliminated.
Interestingly, although all teams are on the map at the same time and you can also track the opponents’ movements on the minimap, there is no PvP. So you only fight against mobs and never against other players.
Behind the game are developers who previously worked at Riot Games on League of Legends or at Blizzard on Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm. Competence is therefore present. In the official press release, it says:
Evercore Heroes is neither a MOBA, nor an MMO, nor a loot grinder. Our game combines deep strategy and combat mastery with a focus on truly cooperative teamwork in a competitive format.

What about the beta? The closed beta started on June 20th at 3:00 PM, simultaneously with the publication of this article.
Although Evercore Heroes will later be free to play, participating in the beta requires you to purchase an access package – which costs 19.99 Euros – or to be invited by a friend. Because every buyer automatically receives a code to gift.
