Half-Life 2 is one of the most well-known shooters on Steam and has a sort of legendary status in the community. For several years now, a mod team has been working on a VR version of the title, and the latest trailer is already generating excitement among fans.
What is Half-Life 2: VR? Half-Life 2: VR is a “Virtual Reality” version of the shooter Half-Life. The project developed by the “SourceVR Mod Team” is intended to be released on Steam just like the original game. However, it is still unclear if a Steam release can actually happen.
What kind of trailer is this? The latest trailer for Half-Life 2: VR announces that the team behind the title is planning a beta that you can participate in. The trailer is presented with action-packed gameplay scenes.
“Can’t wait to experience this classic in VR again”
How was the trailer received? Overall, the trailer is well-received on YouTube . Many Half-Life fans express their excitement. This is evident not only from the over 4,000 “likes” on about 57,800 views but also from the comments:

Steam launch is uncertain – does it affect the beta launch?
When does the beta start? There is currently no official date for the beta, but it is planned for September 2022. According to the developers, it will likely be on a Friday (via HalfLife2VR.com).
Furthermore, the team stated that they currently cannot say whether the release will take place on Steam and how long it might take. The developers are still waiting for approval from Valve.
If the Steam page for Half-Life 2: VR is approved in time, the launch on Steam will take place, the developers say. If this does not happen by September, they would prepare an alternative launch outside of Steam.

Not only a VR version of Half-Life is well-received by many players. A video posted on April 1st by Lost Ark showed what the MMORPG could look like in VR. Although this will probably never be released, MeinMMO author Mark Sellner believes that the popular title needs exactly that.
