The survival shooter Once Human presents chilling scenes with gigantic monsters and action-packed gameplay that offers various facets.
What kind of game is this? Once Human is a third-person survival shooter set to be released on Steam in winter 2023, developed by Starry Studio.
You fight for your survival in a post-apocalyptic world. You have typical gameplay elements from survival games and shooters at your disposal.
In Once Human, you can access over 100 weapon blueprints to fend off various monsters with firepower, as stated on Steam. It is also said that you can customize your current weapon with various perks and attachments to suit your needs. However, you can not only craft weapons to increase your chances of survival but also build houses and establish a base. Additionally, you must collect food and water.

What does the trailer show? The trailer gives a rough overview of different aspects of the game. At the beginning, the scenery and graphics of the title are mainly presented to us, while background sounds create a chilling atmosphere (minute 00:00 to 00:11).
Subsequently, Once Human shows us the first monsters, which feature impressive designs (00:16 to 00:26) and fit equally well into the mysterious and crazy setting. One of the monsters is a kind of awakened tree, the other a gigantic spider.
At 00:47 we see the first shooter gameplay and battles against various monsters. At 00:54 even the use of a skill reminiscent of the looter shooter Outriders follows.
After the battles against monsters come gunfights against human opponents. It is unclear whether the confrontations shown in the trailer demonstrated PvP.
Shortly after, there is a change of pace, and the trailer shows a leisurely motorcycle ride on a remote road instead of action-packed fights. The image and atmosphere may remind some of the single-player game Days Gone.
The now slower pace of the trailer continues and takes us from the motorcycle ride to some houses that are currently being built. A noticeable progress can be seen, turning a perceived construction site into a nearly idyllic home in the middle of a monster-plagued post-apocalypse.
