PlayStation Plus has undergone a significant change on June 23rd and now offers you three different services on PS4 & PS5. To properly celebrate the release, manufacturer Sony has released an emotional trailer that almost guarantees goosebumps.
PlayStation has divided the one-dimensional PS Plus subscription into three different services:
- PS Plus Essential – Standard subscription
- PS Plus Extra – “Game Pass” subscription
- PS Plus Premium – “All in One” subscription
With Extra, you get over 300 games for PS4 and PS5 at no additional cost. With Premium, there is also a “Classic Catalog” included.
A touching trailer went online just in time for the launch.
We follow an elderly gentleman throughout his day and see a lot of references to popular PlayStation games during the trailer.
For example, there are pictures on the gentleman’s fridge showing him as a cowboy maintaining order in Red Dead Redemption. Other photos depict him dunking in “NBA 2K” or in a suit from “Returnal” (Minute 00:53).
Everything is accompanied by emotional music that gradually becomes more prominent.
In the basement, everything is filled with memories from a whole gaming life. First, we see a “Bridge Baby” from Death Stranding (Minute 01:12), then a weapon from Bloodborne (Minute 01:15), and even a Warden from Horizon is parked down there (Minute 01:22).
The trailer suggests that in games, everyone can be anything and is under the motto: “Why choose one when you can be everything?”.
Under the English version of the video, there are many sweet comments and notes. The advertisement is very well received (via YouTube):
- Eldis Skenderagic: “This is the best advertisement video I’ve seen in a very long time. Bravo, Sony.”
- SpawnPoiint: “What a time to be a gamer.”
- Manuel Koegler: “PlayStation really has a talent for creating entertaining advertisements.”
