On January 24, the action RPG Forspoken was released and immediately torn apart by players. With “In Tanta We Trust,” the game received its first story expansion for PS5 and PC on May 26. We show you what the DLC looks like.
Why a DLC at all? Forspoken was met with criticism upon its release in January. And although the ratings have somewhat stabilized in the meantime – after all, “mostly positive” on Steam in recent reviews – it is probably not a game that has triggered a “I want more of this” reaction in very many people.
The fact that there is now an expansion is due to the Deluxe Edition of the game: Because it included the promise to deliver the DLC “In Tanta We Trust.” Square Enix probably could not back out of that (via gamestar).
Despite the original’s failure, the first reviews on Steam are actually cautiously positive – however, there are only 8 of them so far. A review on Metacritic also attests that the DLC is better than the main game. However, there are only 3 reviews there, so an ultimate judgment has to wait a bit longer.
What kind of expansion is this? In Tanta We Trust takes place 25 years before the events in Forspoken. The New Yorker Frey Holland, who has just saved the fantasy world of Athia, is transported back in time by a mysterious voice to defeat the evil power of the Break once and for all.
By her side is Tanta Cinta, who players may already know from the main game. She brings her own magical abilities as well as the possibility of joint tandem attacks.
How can you play the DLC? In Tanta We Trust is available for PS5 and PC on all major platforms. For owners of the Deluxe Edition of Forspoken, the expansion is free. Others can purchase the DLC for currently €12.49.
