Embers Adrift is an MMORPG that will be released this week. In a new trailer, we learn more about the game’s story and the dangers that lurk in the world.
What kind of game is this? Developed by Stormhaven Studios, Embers Adrift is a new sandbox MMORPG that is set to be released on October 15, 2022, for PC and will follow a monthly subscription model for funding.
A large part of the MMORPG experience is expected to consist of crafting and exploring the open game world. Additionally, Embers Adrift will focus on PvE, with no PvP involved.
A place full of dangers
What does the trailer report? The trailer provides some insights into the story and world of Embers Adrift. As a so-called Drifter, you are a person who faces the challenges of the Darklands, an untamed area in the north of the MMORPG world.
The trailer mentions that the northern wilderness is full of dangers and beasts that are growing larger and more aggressive. Moreover, the mysterious resource “Ember” is said to change the environment in the north.
In general, you are in search of answers to the secrets of the Ember and the history of an ancient people who left the area and left behind ruins.
Besides various beasts and the Ember, there are also humans in the north who pose a danger. Those who commit a crime in the towns will be excluded from the safe community and banished to the wilderness. Those banished criminals are now also roaming the north.
Finally, the trailer emphasizes once again the danger that lies in the north of the MMORPG world. Many people who venture into the north do not return. However, those who make it back often return with treasures and other loot that make them more powerful.
A powerful resource
What is the Ember? The MMORPG’s website gives us more information about the mysterious resource. Myths and children’s stories have already spoken of it in the world of Embers Adrift (via EmbersAdrift.com).
With it, it is possible to perform wondrous deeds, which is why kings and other powerful individuals quickly tried to claim its power upon its discovery and triggered a war.
