Blizzard has released a new gameplay trailer for Diablo 4, showcasing various attacks from the different classes. However, the biggest topic is the music selection.
The release of Diablo 4 is getting closer. Players can dive into the deep Sanctuaries and slay heaps of monsters by early June. The final beta has already excited players, and many fans of the series are now hopefully looking forward to the release.
Accordingly, the community is curious when new information or trailers are released – even if the music selection cannot convince.
What kind of video is this? Diablo 4 has released a new gameplay trailer for the launch of the action RPG, showcasing various attacks from the different classes.
“As if you were pouring yogurt into a glass of 40-year-old whisky”
What do the fans say? As dark and bloody as Sanctuary and its creatures may be, the biggest shock in the Diablo 4 community was probably the music selection of the new trailer.
Blizzard chose the song “you should see me in a crown” by Billie Eilish. However, the fans of the devilish monster-slaying would rather have preferred the soundtrack from Diablo 1 or even “Mother” by the American rock band Danzig.
Yet, despite the negative voices regarding the chosen song, the overall sentiment under the video is positive. Many fans are really excited for the game and can hardly wait for the release.
- TheShyAI: “Incorporating a ‘Billie Eilish’ melody into Diablo is like pouring yogurt into a glass of 40-year-old single malt whisky. You simply don’t do that.”
- S1nwar: “That would have been the perfect opportunity to use parts of the “Diablo 1″ soundtrack.”
- LynxenX: “Strange song choice for this trailer, but the game looks absolutely great, the server slam was a blast!”
- tobx7783: “Strange music choice for a Diablo trailer, but I can’t wait for the game!”
- alexkazzam: I haven’t been this excited for a game’s release in a long time! Can’t wait for the launch!!!
Despite the music selection, the video editing of the trailer was praised, matching the rhythm of the song: “It may not fit the theme and tone of Diablo, but the editing that aligns with the rhythm of the title was really well done.”
Additionally, there were further positive comments about the previous beta tests and how the development team responds to player feedback: “Aside from the strange music selection, as someone who played the betas for about 25 hours, I can say this game is solid! They really listen to player feedback and polish the experience.”
The new trailer and its comments also show: many Diablo fans are excited for the release. This applies to MeinMMO editor benedict Grothaus, who even played the final beta during a train ride:
