Strange things happen in Dead by Daylight on Halloween. Toilet paper skins, new content, and a free weekend.
If there is a season that fits Dead by Daylight perfectly, it’s Halloween. After all, the game is inspired by countless horror slashers, which are simply part of the spooky season. The developers know this, and that’s why they are bringing a big Halloween event with some new features – including new gameplay mechanics, as well as creepy skins that fall somewhere between “Ew, gross” and “pretty silly.”
We’ll tell you what’s going on in October during the event time of “Haunted by Daylight” (“Spuk in Dead by Daylight”).
New horror skins in the shop: Starting October 11, there will be some new thematic Halloween skins in the shop. For Dwight, there is the “Toilet Paper Mummy,” where the most cowardly of all survivors apparently tried to make a mummy costume out of toilet paper.
The Oni and the Mastermind also receive skins in the style of “Hallowed Blight,” where the killers are infected with a bright, orange substance that bursts out of their bodies.
New tome with more story: Starting from October 12, the new tome of Dead by Daylight begins. This is basically the battle pass, which also brings story content and a lot of rewards. This time, the story focuses on “The Witch” Mikaela Reid and the killer Ghost Face. Particularly cool: There are even the masks of Ghost Face from the parody “Scary Movie”!
In-game event brings more rewards: Starting October 13, the actual in-game event “Haunted by Daylight” begins, and there is a lot to do in the game. First, there is a special “event tome” with specific challenges and rewards that can only be completed during the Halloween event.
Completing them not only earns you many bloodpoints, but also some pretty spooky rewards, like the “Swamp Creature” appearance for the Hag – one of the creepiest skins so far, reminiscent of cheesy horror movies from the 70s or 80s.
Survivors must collect “empty energy” by repairing specific generators and then give that energy into rifts that appear in various locations on the map – this way, players earn special cosmetic tops or “candy weapons” for some killers.
Free weekend over Halloween: If you still don’t know what to do on Halloween, you can take a longer look at Dead by Daylight. Starting October 27, Dead by Daylight will be Free2Play for a few days, so anyone interested can at least get an impression of the horror game without spending a cent.
Since the event will likely attract a lot of new and old players, the waiting times should be pleasantly short, and there should also be enough new players so that you won’t be immediately stomped into the ground by long-time veterans.
Are you going to play Dead by Daylight over Halloween and unlock the new content? Or can’t the skins lure you out from behind the spooky pumpkin?
