In Chivalry 2, you engage in massive medieval battles where you clash with 63 other knights. The trailer for the new Reinforced Update showcases a new weapon and a new map.
What kind of game is this? In Chivalry 2, you grab swords and other knightly weapons and fight chaotic battles with up to 64 players. Your objective is to either capture and conquer a position or defend the aforementioned position.
In doing so, you carve your way through a narrow bridge in a wild melee, break down gates with a battering ram, or scale the walls of a castle. This gameplay mechanic, along with the overwhelming atmosphere of the depicted war, is reminiscent of the shooter Battlefield.
However, there are also modes in Chivalry 2, like team deathmatch, where you don’t have to capture points.
Update brings new weapon and map
What new content does the update bring? Besides some new customization options, the new map and new weapon are the highlights of the Reinforced Update.
The new weapon, the katars, is a type of dagger that you can carry one in each hand, allowing you to perform quick attacks. The katars are designed for the raider class and, according to the developers, require high precision and are relatively weak at blocking attacks (via Steam).
The new map of Chivalry 2 is called Hippodrome and, as the name suggests, is inspired by the racetracks of ancient Greece. However, in Chivalry 2, you will not be hosting horse or chariot races there, but rather fighting for victory in Free-For-All mode or team deathmatch.
What does the trailer show? The trailer essentially shows exactly what characterizes Chivalry 2: chaotic knight battles where body parts may fly. Additionally, the trailer showcases the new map and the use of the new weapons.
