In an upcoming horror survival game, you must survive in a furniture store and fight against the mutated employees.
What kind of game is this? The game is titled “The Store is Closed”. In it, you will be locked inside a furniture store where the employees even turn off the lights at night. The store itself, with its blue facade and yellow sign that reads “Styr”, resembles the Swedish retailer IKEA.
The gameplay of this crazy title is a mix of survival and horror. You will explore the closed store and collect items that you can then use or with which you can craft new tools.
Moreover, everything in the store is said to be destructible, as stated on Steam. Whether it’s walls, chairs, or tables, you can dismantle everything. With the materials available to you, you must also build a shelter that keeps the various employees outside and protects you from them.
In The Store is Closed, not only the lack of food is a danger, but also the employees of the store, especially the manager. They are not normal people; rather, they resemble monsters or mutated beings.
What does the trailer show? The trailer features some gameplay scenes and illustrates what happens when the lights go out at night. We see the player being attacked by an employee who wants to throw him out of the store.
Additionally, we witness the mentioned destructibility of the map and see how chairs and shelves are smashed. Meanwhile, the narrator tells us that he survived on the food from the furniture store’s cafés.
Subsequently, we see the first attempts to build a kind of “base” that includes little more than a mattress. The player must also look for a chainsaw and a flamethrower to escape the dangers of IKEA.
When is the release? Currently, no official release date for The Store is Closed has been announced.
